  Supreme Court to hear Manish Sisodia’s bail plea regarding excise police case, today 28 February, 2023 Today, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia approached the Supreme Court challenging CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) arrest in context with a corruption case related to the now-scrapped excise policy. The top Court bench agreed to hear the bail plea of Manish Sisodia which was mentioned by Abhishek Manu Singhvi at 3:50 pm today. The Chief Justice of India asked Singhvi that why the remedies available before the High Court under Section 482 CrPC could not be availed by Sisodia. Singhvi replied that Manish Sisodia’s case is an extraordinary case warranting interference under Article 32. In addition, he cited the judgment passed by the Court in Vinod Dua Case.   Supreme Court extends Congress Spokesperson Pawan Khera’s interim bail till March 3 27 February, 2023 The interim bail granted to Congress Spokesperson Pawan Khera was extended today by the Supreme Court till March 3, 2023. He was arrested from Delhi airport by Assam police over his derogatory comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The case was listed for today before the Bench of the Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice PB Pardiwala, and Justice PS Narasimha.   How Constitution protects Orphans and their Homes 24 February, 2023 An Orphan is a minor who has lost both his or her parents or is abandoned by his or her parents or is lost and has no knowledge of who his or her parents are. According to the Orphan Child (Provision of Social Security) Bill, 2016, a child is characterized as “a kid who has been deserted or has lost either guardians or whose guardians’ personality isn’t known and incorporates a kid who isn’t ‘considered’ important as a part of a family.” They are deprived of affection and care.   Supreme Court Grants Interim Bail to Congress Spokesperson Pawan Khera 23 February, 2023 Thursday 23, February Supreme court provided relief to Congress spokesperson Mr. Pawan Khera by granting him interim bail. Mr. Khera who was booked by the Uttar Pradesh and Assam police for fouling Prime Minister Modi’s name during a press conference while demanding a probe in Adani-Hindenburg controversy. However, Khera said it was just a slip of tongue.    The matter was presented before the bench comprising the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and justices PS Narasimha and MR Shah.The Congress Politician was arrested from Delhi Airport by the Assam police under Section 153 A as multiple FIR’s were filed against him after the said press conference.   Mr. Khera has also requested the Apex court to club the multiple FIR’s on which the court has sought opinion of State of Assam and Uttar Pradesh as FIR has been filed against him in several cities in these two states .   Supreme Court upholds Madras HC order: EPS wins leadership over OPS 23 February, 2023 The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Madras High Court division Bench by which Edappadi Palani Swamy’s position as interim general secretary was confirmed. The row in the top leadership of the party kicked up after the death of J. Jayalalitha along with the arrest of V. Sasikala who was interim General secretary at that time.   CJI agrees for urgent listing of hijab case before March 9 22 February, 2023 Today, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud agreed to take a call on an urgent listing of the hijab case before the commencement of exams scheduled on March 9. In the Hijab case, Muslim girls were seeking interim relief for allowing them to wear hijabs and attend exams in the government colleges.
